Correctly demonstrating a product is CE Marked is so much more than purely ensuring the CE mark is placed on it!   The presence of a CE mark evidences the culmination of a comprehensive safety assessment and validation process, a process which is often labour intensive and resource-consuming, so getting it right comes with its pitfalls.    Discussing the risks that manufacturers and importers will likely approach, and how to mitigate any non-compliances will hopefully help you skip these common pitfalls.

Even if your product doesn't required a CE mark, it's always best to ensure you check if any other regulations apply before placing your product on the market. Following on from the decision, in 2023, by the UK Government to accept CE Marking indefinitely, The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has issued what it calls “Update to product marking (UKCA/CE recognition) guidance”.
